Jewelry Armoires are Attractive and Versatile

A jewelry armoire is one of the most elegant ways to store your jewelry. Unlike traditional jewelry boxes they have an upright design and are tall and narrow. There are a variety of designs and a wide range of sizes. Some can fit on top of a dresser while others are as tall as a small dresser themselves. Like smaller jewelry boxes they have drawers that are suited to different types of jewelry, with ring rolls for rings, compartments for rings, etc. The drawers should also be lined with material that will keep the jewelry from being damaged and also not itself damage the jewelry. They are made in a selection of quality woods such as birch, cherry or oak.

Smaller jewelry armoires often look like scaled-down clothing armoires and have several drawers on one side and a door on the other that leads to a mirrored compartment. This compartment will have hooks or other apparatus on which to hang necklaces. The Enabling them to hang naturally in this way is a much better way to store necklaces. In addition, the hook arrangement should revolve to allow for easily removing the necklaces from the armoire and keeping them from getting tangled and knotted. At least one of the drawers should contain ring rolls.

Larger armoires have hinged mirrored lids like smaller jewelry boxes and drawers down the middle of varying sizes. Rings or bracelets are usually kept on the top compartment. They sometimes also have fold-out side compartments that can be used for holding necklaces, or in the larger size compartments, even neckties. These can either be two doors of different sizes on each side or one large door on each side, separated into two sections. They are usually easily opened by means of touch-latches. The drawers on the larger armoires can hold jewelry items or even some clothing items, hair accessories or lingerie.

In some of these larger jewelry armoires the drawers are hidden until they are opened and so the armoire can be an unobtrusive decorative piece that is pleasant to look at that. When you are ready to open the drawers and compartments, however, you will be amazed at the amount of storage space that is concealed within the diminutive armoire. Some come not in just a simple wood finish but are graced with intricate, beautiful designs and images. Some come in antique, old-fashioned designs, some rustic, some elegant and modern.

Larger jewelry armoires can require a small amount of assembly, usually requiring attaching the legs (if the legs are long, as on some models) and attaching the top lid and side doors. The effort of assembly should be minimal, however, and well worth it for the versatile and attractive jewelry armoire you have just purchased.
